I think they’re wasting their time.
Harsh, but true.
The majority of the tasks businesses owners do on a day-to-day basis not only take up the most time - but they don’t add any value to your business.
Yes, it’s great that you’ve managed to email 235 customers today with your monthly newsletter.
But has it actually got you any new customers?
So why did you waste 4.5 hours on a task that won’t even increase your profits?
You could’ve spent that time putting out new ads instead.
With a VA, you won’t need to do these wasteful tasks anymore.
And don’t try to argue with me.
“Oh, I only send a quick email every now and again.”
Although the tasks you do may be quick, the time spent on them adds up - rather quickly, I might add.

These are tasks that are essential to the success of your business, and you aren’t able to pass onto someone else to complete.
After surveying our clients, we found the majority thought this was live-streaming.
Many of them get a lot of new leads from talking to their audiences this way.
The company owner (in our clients' cases) is the face of their business, so a VA couldn’t step into the videos in their place.
These tasks still need to be done.
But there’s no urgency or strict time-frame behind them.
For a selection of our clients, this is competitor analysis.
It’s nice to know where their sales are, in comparison to other companies…
But they don’t need to go out of their way every day to see what they’re doing.
These are the tasks that make you want to stick your hand in a blender, rather than spend another second on them.
For a small portion of our clients, this is proofreading.
There are only so many times in a day they can re-read the same piece of content without their eyes exploding - hey, they said it, not me.
If you’re not enjoying a task, outsource it.
It will save your brain from turning to mush.
These are the tasks that, for whatever reason, you just don’t understand.
Maybe you’re not trained in this particular area?
For the last client I spoke to, this was website maintenance.
The code on their website has to be changed every now and again - when new products come out for example.
And they had absolutely no idea how to do that.
When you hire a VA, you do it based on skillset.
So that client, for example, would only hire one that specializes in website maintenance!
There’s such a wide price range when it comes to VAs, it’s hard to narrow it down.
They can charge anything from ||$||1||$|| to ||$||633||$|| if they like.
As freelancers, it’s completely up to them what they charge.
So they charge what they think their services are worth.
You may be able to score a discount though if you book hours with them in bulk!
And the price depends on the urgency of your task.
If you want to hire them for a task that needs to be finished within the hour, it would be courteous to pay them double.
After all, they’re dropping everything to help you out.
But don’t worry, they’re still cheaper than hiring a salaried staff member!

A good relationship is essential for a successful partnership with your VA.

|Provide Frequent Evaluations|
They need to know if they’re on the right path when completing projects.
You can’t expect them to just know if they’ve done a good job or not.
Let them know what they’ve done well and if there are any areas in which you want to change the way they work!
|Don’t Micromanage Them|
This is so annoying.
They don’t need someone constantly peeking over their shoulder (virtually) - it’s so off-putting.
You need to trust them to do what you’ve asked.
They’re trained in this and if they really didn’t understand a task, they would tell you!
Make yourself available to answer any of their queries and direct them on new tasks you want them to do.
Have a discussion about what’s going well and what can be improved.
The frequency you have these conversations is entirely up to you.
But I recommend at least once a week!
